A drive from Zagreb to Buševec, typical village of Turopolje, just 30 km from Zagreb. During the drive the guide introduces you the rich history, traditional customs and stories of the area. Arrival in Buševec, that now has about 1000 inhabitants.

Here is placed a handicraft of tamburica by family Katulić, what is an instrument present in the original folk music throughout the continental Croatia. The tradition of playing the tambura in the family is present over 90 years. Instruments of Katulić handicraft are used by many professional and amateur, domestic and immigrant ensembles. Guided tour by host around workshop and introduction of methods for making and finishing the instruments.

In the village there is one of the most important wooden beauties of Turopolje – Chapel of St.. John the Baptist. It was built in the second half of the 17th ct. from oak of Turopolje and was the model for the construction of a series of wooden chapel in Turopolje and Pokuplje in post- Baroque period. Valuable interior is being refurbished, therefore outdoor tour has been scheduled only. There is a refurbished blockhouse called “čardak” - an example of architectural heritage that is typical for villages in Turopolje and Posavina -a two floor wooden house built with beautifully carved porches and outdoor staircases. Just nearby is a small ethno-workshop. Here visitors will be able to see how the traditional weaving looms work, once typical for the peasant households. Afterwards the local cultural-artistic association will perform abridged folklore version of Turopolje wedding customs “Turopoljski mladečki”. Weddings in Turopolje were known by a variety of practices related to the proposal, marriage portion, arrival of the bride to the new home and others.

Upon completion of performance, a short drive to a nearby restaurant and a lunch with domestic specialties with live performance of traditional folk songs on tamburica. A visit to a local wine-cellar and wine-tasting. Return drive to Zagreb.
