Departure from Zagreb in the morning. Drive to the city of Kutjevo, which has been mentioned for the first time in written documents in the 13 ct. as the Cistercian monks, the people know them as „white monks“, founded the abbey called “Vallis Honesta de Gotha. From that time there is a famous wine cellar, and according the tale there is the stone table from the time of Baron Trenk and Empress Maria Theresa. The tradition of wine-making dates back from medieval and even Roman times since the “Vallis Aurea” of Požega has been respected as a beautiful and fertile landscape. In the 19th ct., when the property was owned by the family of Baron Turković, Kutjevo had became known among experts in wine growing and production, with then the largest plantation called Dragan-lug in Europe. Drive to Požega, the historic royal city located on the east side of Golden Valley. In the hollow of the valley, surrounded by the ring made of Slavonian mountains Krndija, Psunj, Papuk, the region of Požega has always been recognized as an ideal place to live.
